FRIENDLY WORKSTATION SUGGESTIONS
-
Place the top of screen at eye level; lower for
bifocals. Screen distance at arms length (15-36”).
-
Document holder at screen height and depth.
-
Chair backrest provides for low back support.
Chair back and seat should be easily adjustable by user.
-
Proper keyboard height promotes relaxed arms with
forearms parallel to floor.
-
Wrists should be in a straight (neutral position).
-
Thighs
parallel to floor or knees slightly lower than hips. Ample legroom under workspace.
-
Feet resting firmly on the floor or footrest.
|
OTHER SUGGESTIONS
-
Implement a few changes at one time. Allow 1 or 2 weeks for your body to adjust to the changes.
-
The body is made to move and it is best to change
positions, get up and walk or stretch frequently, change your chair
settings throughout the day.
-
If you are an adjustable lens user it will be
important for you to try the above suggestions but make every effort to
maintain a good posture. Have
a computer specific eye exam performed.
